🚀 Getting Started

What is WhoLikedThat? +

WhoLikedThat? is a free social party game that turns your TikTok liked video collection into a hilarious multiplayer guessing challenge. Players connect their accounts, pool their liked videos together into one shared game, and then take turns watching mystery videos and voting on which player they think liked it.

Think of it like a digital "who knows who best" game — but instead of trivia questions, you're judging each other's taste in TikTok content. The results are always funny, often surprising, and occasionally mortifying.

WhoLikedThat? supports three game modes: Online Multiplayer (play with friends anywhere in the world), Local Multiplayer (the ultimate party night mode for a group gathered in one place), and Solo Reminisce (just you and your TikTok history, no competition).

How do I create an account? +

Creating an account is free and takes less than a minute. From the main page, click "Sign up free!" and fill in your chosen username, email address, and a password. You'll also need to pick a profile avatar — choose from one of our pre-made robot avatars or upload your own image.

Once your account is created, you'll go through a short tutorial explaining how to import your TikTok videos and how each game mode works. You can skip the tutorial if you're already familiar with the game.

Is WhoLikedThat? free to play? +

Yes — WhoLikedThat? is completely free to play with no hidden charges, subscriptions, or paywalled content. Every game mode, theme, and feature is available to all users at no cost.

The game is supported by non-intrusive advertising served through Google AdSense. If you'd prefer a fully ad-free experience, you can earn it permanently in two ways:

  • Referral programme: Share your unique referral codes with friends. When three friends sign up using your code and load their TikToks, you both earn ad-free status for life.
  • Sign up with a code: If an existing player shares their referral code with you, sign up using it and load your TikToks to unlock ad-free status immediately.
Do I need a TikTok account to play? +

Yes, you need a TikTok account with at least some liked videos to participate as a full player in the game. WhoLikedThat? draws on your TikTok liked video collection as the game content — without liked videos loaded into your account, the game modes will remain locked.

📦 Importing Your TikToks

How do I import my TikTok liked videos? +

After logging in, tap "Add TikToks" from the home screen. You'll be prompted to choose one of two import methods:

  • Chrome Extension (recommended for desktop): Install our Chrome browser extension, open TikTok in Chrome while logged in, and click the extension icon. It will automatically pull your liked videos into your WhoLikedThat? account — usually 500–1,000 videos in just a few minutes.
  • TikTok Data ZIP Upload (works on all devices): Go to your TikTok account settings, navigate to "Privacy" → "Personalisation and data" → "Download your data", and request a data export. Once you receive the ZIP file from TikTok (this can take up to 30 days, though it's usually much faster), upload it directly through WhoLikedThat?. This method captures all liked videos and favourites.
How long does importing take? +

Chrome Extension: Typically 2–8 minutes depending on how many liked videos you have. The extension processes videos in batches and uploads them to your account in the background — you'll see a progress indicator while it's running.

TikTok Data ZIP: The upload and processing itself takes only a minute or two once you have the ZIP file. The wait time is getting the ZIP from TikTok in the first place — TikTok usually delivers the data within a few hours to a few days, though they have up to 30 days by law.

Can I add more TikToks after the initial import? +

Yes! You can re-run the import process at any time to add newer liked videos to your collection. Just tap "Add TikToks" again from the home screen and run either import method. The system will detect and add only the new videos, without creating duplicates of ones you've already imported.

We recommend doing a fresh import every few weeks if you're an active TikTok user, so your collection stays current and the game stays fresh.

What happens if a TikTok video gets deleted? +

If a video in your collection is deleted by its creator or made private on TikTok after you imported it, the embed will no longer be available. WhoLikedThat? will skip unavailable videos during gameplay so they don't cause disruptions.

You can also manually remove videos from your collection at any time — either through the "My Data" section on the home screen, or by clicking the remove button while watching a video in Solo Reminisce mode.

Is the Chrome Extension safe to use? +

Yes. The Chrome Extension only reads your TikTok liked video data when you explicitly activate it while logged into TikTok in your browser. It does not capture your TikTok password, payment information, messages, or any other sensitive account data.

The extension only reads the video IDs and publicly visible metadata (such as creator username and video description) from your liked videos page. No actual video files are downloaded or stored — only references to the videos. You can uninstall the extension at any time after importing without affecting your WhoLikedThat? account.

🎮 Game Modes

How does Online Multiplayer work? +

Online Multiplayer lets you play with friends anywhere in the world. Here's how a typical session goes:

  1. 1One player creates a room and receives a unique 4-letter code.
  2. 2They share the code with friends, who join using the "Join Room" option.
  3. 3The host starts the game. Each round, a mystery TikTok is selected from the combined pool of all players' liked videos.
  4. 4Everyone watches the video and submits their guess for who liked it before the timer runs out.
  5. 5Points are awarded for correct guesses. After all rounds, the final scoreboard reveals the winner.

The game host can customise settings including the voting time per round, number of rounds, auto-advance mode, and Unique Likes Only mode.

What's the difference between Online and Local Multiplayer? +

Online Multiplayer is designed for playing with friends remotely — everyone watches the video on their own device and votes from their own screen. It works great when your friends aren't in the same room.

Local Multiplayer is designed for in-person gatherings. The host runs the game on a central screen (laptop, TV, or games console is ideal for the best big-screen experience), while players join from their individual smartphones using the room code and vote privately. Votes are revealed simultaneously on the host screen for maximum dramatic effect — perfect for parties.

What is Solo Reminisce mode? +

Solo Reminisce is a single-player mode with no competition or guessing — just you and your TikTok history. It randomly plays videos from your liked collection so you can relive your favourites, discover ones you've forgotten about, and remove any you've moved on from.

You can toggle Autoplay mode to let the videos flow continuously, or manually tap "Play Random" to jump to a new video whenever you like. You can also remove individual videos from your collection directly within this mode by clicking the Remove button.

What does "Unique Likes Only" mode do? +

When "Unique Likes Only" is enabled, the game will only show videos that are liked by exactly one player in the room. Any video that appears in two or more players' collections is excluded from the round pool.

This mode is great for making every round a genuine mystery — if multiple players have liked the same video, guessing becomes too easy (or impossible to score correctly). Unique Likes Only ensures every video played has one definitive right answer.

How many players can join a game? +

There is no hard cap on the number of players in a WhoLikedThat? room. The game works best with 3–8 players — enough for the guessing to be genuinely challenging without the voting buttons becoming too crowded on screen.

With 2 players, the game is still fun but guessing is essentially 50/50 every round. With 10+ players, the voting interface can get a little dense on smaller screens, but it still works. The sweet spot for an ideal game night is 4–6 players.

⚙️ Technical & Account

Can I play on my phone? +

Absolutely. WhoLikedThat? is fully mobile-optimised and works on both iOS and Android devices. For the best mobile experience, we recommend installing the game as a Progressive Web App (PWA):

  • On iOS (Safari): Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, scroll down, and tap "Add to Home Screen". The game will appear on your home screen as a full-screen app — no App Store needed.
  • On Android (Chrome): Tap the three-dot menu and select "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App".

Note: The Chrome Extension import method requires a desktop browser. Mobile users can import their videos using the TikTok Data ZIP Upload method instead.

Can I customise my game settings? +

Yes! The game host has full control over room settings before and during a game. Configurable options include:

  • Voting Time: Set how many seconds players have to vote each round (10–120 seconds).
  • Number of Rounds: Choose how many rounds to play (1–20 rounds).
  • Auto Next Round: Automatically advance to the next round after a configurable reveal delay, rather than requiring the host to manually click "Next Round".
  • Unique Likes Only: Only include videos liked by exactly one player in the game pool.

You can also personalise your own experience with 10 visual themes (Candy Pop, Synthwave, Golden Hour, Midnight Lounge, Obsidian, Arctic Frost, Deep Rose, Enchanted Forest, Deep Ocean, and Volcanic) and 10 different winner sound effects.

How do I delete my account? +

To permanently delete your WhoLikedThat? account and all associated data, send an email to wholikedthat@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Please include your registered username so we can locate your account.

We will process all deletion requests within 30 days and confirm once the deletion is complete. After deletion, your username, email, liked video references, scores, and all other personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Is WhoLikedThat? affiliated with TikTok? +

No. WhoLikedThat? is a completely independent game and has no affiliation, partnership, or endorsement from TikTok Ltd. or its parent company ByteDance Ltd. "TikTok" is a registered trademark of ByteDance Ltd.

TikTok videos are displayed within the game using TikTok's publicly available embed feature, the same way any website can embed a YouTube video or a tweet. All video content remains the property of the original creators and is subject to TikTok's own platform rules.
